This is a terrific golf course set in the beautiful woodlands of northern Michigan. I've been playing at St. Ives since 2000 (most recently in July and September) and have been most impressed by the consistency of the excellent course conditions and helpful staff. The playing conditions at St. Ives are rivaled only by its sister course Tullymore, which is only a few miles away. There are some quirky holes at St. Ives, which means you have to think carefully about what club to use off the tee. Overall though, it's a very fair test of golf in one of the most beautiful settings you'll find anywhere in Michigan.
My only criticisms are that the driving range is irons only and the St. Ives Grille could do with a menu overhaul. Having said that, the breakfast burritos and Bloody Mary's are terrific. Like Tullymore, St. Ives is not cheap, and you can expect to pay $125 on the weekend during high season. Your best bet is to play weekday twilight for $70. -

The greens at this course are in terrible condition, I don't think I've ever played on greens worse than these. 9 of the 18 greens have spots where there is no grass and the 17th green literally has 100 piles of goose crap on it. I can't believe they charge $120 for a weekend round, especially with no GPS on the carts. To top it off, we tried to order lunch after the round at 1:30 in the clubhouse only to be told they cannot find the chef to cook any food. We won't be back and I urge you to find any other course in the area.

Great beautiful course! Greens & fairways were in great conditions. Very nice scenic holes, moderately difficult, great price for the quality of the course. Staff inside and outside of the pro shop was very nice as well as the two young ladies bar tending. We'll be back next year.
